On the margins of the 18th Summit of the Francophonie in Djerba, the Honourable Mr. Pierre-Yves Jeholet, Minister-President of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, and the Honourable Caroline Mulroney, Minister of Francophone Affairs of the Province of Ontario, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Province of Ontario and the French Community of Belgium (also named Wallonia-Brussels Federation).

This MOU aims at promoting and encouraging exchanges between institutions and citizens of Ontario and Wallonia-Brussels, in the areas of education, culture, research, digital media, youth, and the promotion of the French language

This Memorandum, which follows a joint declaration signed by both ministers in September 2021, will enhance exchanges and partnerships between the two territories and create new opportunities to bring closer  their higher education institutions, artists, media and many others.
