REGARD, the short film event not to be missed

REGARD, le Festival international du court métrage au Saguenay, one of the principal short films festivals in North America, will welcome you from March 22 to 26, 2023. Since 1995, the festival has been contributing to the cinematographic education of young people through the screening of short films from Quebec and abroad. On the program? Nearly 200 short films, including two Belgian productions.

Wallonia-Brussels will be proudly represented during the festival thanks to Salomé Crickx and her short film « Se dit d’un cerf qui quitte son bois » (Said of a deer that leaves its antlers) and the animated short film « Va t'en Alfred » de Célia Tisserant etr Arnaud Demuynck.

Salomé Crickx is a director, actor and stage director from Brussels. Graduated from the Conservatoire de Mons in Drama, she started her career in theatre in 2015. In 2018, she adapted and directed Lutte des classes with Iacopo Bruno, at the Théâtre des Martyrs. Her filmmaking career starts in 2020. Se dit d’un cerf qui quitte son bois is her first short.

In competition for Best youth short film

Célia Tisserant, After obtaining a DMA at the ESAAT, Celia Tisserant co-directed with Celia Tocco her first short film, ‘The Golden Tortoise‘, and in 2019, her second short film, ‘The Little Red Chick’. She co-directed her 1st medium-length film with Arnaud Demuynck, 'Old Mother Snow' in 2020. All these films were released in short film programmes in the French cinemas.

Arnaud Demuynck is a film director, producer and scriptwriter specialized in short and medium-length animated films (and producing 5 to 6 films on average each year). Since his ‘L'Ecluse’ (The Lock), a short choreographic fiction film made in 2000, he has written and directed many animated films.
